I draw with lines in two and three dimensions, creating structures in space. The structures develop through process rather than being pre-designed. They begin as minimal forms or marks and are then built up through repetition, in response to the space being occupied. The work is driven by a fascination with the processes of development and with the experience of three-dimensionality in everyday life, in particular how we perceive depth, distance and the effects of movement. Through a language of geometric lines, I'm looking at connections between structure and fluidity in forms.

About

Caroline Lambard lives and works in London.  With a degree in 3d industrial design, she began to develop her installation practice during a residency at the Florence Trust, London, in 2003.  Since then she has worked with galleries and curators on site specific installations and drawing exhibitions, has been involved in large scale public art projects, and has run an arts-based, cross-disciplinary public discussion programme in central London.
