Draw it Out! at MICA

Draw it Out!, a series of drawing related events, will take place at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD from February 25 to March 8, 2018.  Organized by faculty members Renee Van der Stelt and Gerald Ross, Draw it Out! will present lectures, including one by Claire Gilman of the Drawing Center, workshops, and panels that explore the many questions and interdisciplinary approaches prevalent in contemporary practices. The conceptually based workshops will invite educators, students, and the public to draw in unusual ways. These will take place in the Meyerhoff Gallery located on MICA's campus. At its core, Draw it Out! seems to be asking, "What is drawing?"  and "What is its significance today?" Furthermore, and perhaps most important, "What can it become?" It will be interesting to see how all of the multifaceted experiences offered will synthesize.
